The next ten years of Australian red meat is one of both immense opportunity and challenge. Global red meat consumption will grow from 1-2.5% with demand for beef to increase 20%, and sheepmeat up to 50%.

However, issues like GHG emissions, livestock welfare and the resource security of Australia’s regions will also continue to make world headlines.

Don Mackay has more than 40 years’ experience in some of agriculture’s most significant leadership positions, including his current role has Chair of the Red Meat Advisory Council. At the Rural Press Club of Queensland's February event, he’ll discuss where to from here for the White Paper into the Red Meat Memorandum of Understanding and provide a preview of what industry should expect in terms of structure and strategy for the next decade to seize the opportunities ahead.

Any beef producer in Australia can become a Cattle Council member. Membership is $100 (+GST) annually per individual or Property Identification Code (PIC).
