President

Markus Rathsmann

Markus Rathsmann has a lifetime of experience in the Northern cattle industry, and owns and operates Mount Ringwood Station south of Darwin in the Top End region of the Northern Territory.

Running 6,000 tropical composite brahman cattle on Mt Ringwood and other properties in the Top End, the businesses focus on fertility, polled genes, cattle trading and a fodder operation to prepare cattle for the live export market.

Markus also has experience in the buffalo industry, and was a long-time manager of Gulin Gulin Buffalo Co in Arnhem Land supplying free range buffalo and cattle to the live export trade.

First elected to the Northern Territory Cattlemen’s Association (NTCA) Board in 2012, Markus has served as the NTCA’s Deputy Chair and Chair of the Top End Branch.

Markus is a graduate of Marcus Oldham Farm Management College.

Representing Your Industry

Any beef producer in Australia can become a Cattle Council member. Membership is $100 (+GST) annually per individual or Property Identification Code (PIC). For those producers who are already members of a State Farming Organisation, the membership fee is waived. Click here for more information on becoming a member.
