Cattle Council is developing a Pasturefed Cattle Assurance System that will provide producers will another avenue of which to market their cattle.
The scheme will consist of two standards which will provide assurances regarding particular claims about the manner in which beef has been raised and fed.
The voluntary standards will require cattle to be fed only pasture, be MSA graded, have lifetime traceability and never be confined for the purposes of intensive feeding. One of the standards will also have added claims that the cattle are free from Hormone Growth Promotants and antibiotics.
