Cattle Council Independent Director joins Minister for North Asia Tour
Cattle Council of Australia’s (CCA) independent Director, Marc Greening was invited to attend a five-day North Asia tour with The Minister for Agriculture and Water Resources, Barnaby Joyce.
Travelling to China, Korea and Japan, Mr. Greening will be representing the beef industry alongside several other agricultural sectors including horticulture, dairy, grains and sugar.
The primary goal of this agricultural delegation tour is to build on the relationships formed by the recent free trade agreements and strengthen the agricultural ties at both government and industry levels.
Marc Greening operates a Poll Hereford/ Hereford Bull business supplying in excess of 2500 grassfed cattle to various domestic and international markets.
‘The Australian Beef Industry has erupted with international demand, especially in these markets were demand is expected to rise by 6-7% in the near future’ Mr Greening said.
‘I am excited to be representing Cattle Council and Australian grassfed beef producers within these markets, an opportunity that many producers would not receive’.
The Minister has organised host functions within each country showcasing representatives from each industry.
‘These markets provide only opportunity for Australian grassfed producers, it is important for me, as a producer to learn how our market can meet their growing demands.’
‘I look forward to building a network base between countries and gaining a greater understanding of the issues that arise within the Australian beef industry’ said Mr. Greening.
Minister Joyce is visiting China on 12 November, Korea on 13 and 14 November followed by Japan on 15 and 16 November.
