Cattle Council's Annual General Meeting Date Announced

The Cattle Council's Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held at 8am on Monday 9th November 2015 at the Mercure North Quay in Brisbane, Queensland.

This year marks the maturing of Cattle Council’s reformed constitution with 4 board positions up for re-election. The current board positions up for renewal will be nominated by Cattle Council’s state members of NSW Farmers, Pastoralists and Graziers Association of WA, Tasmanian Farmers & Graziers Association and Northern Territory Cattlemen’s Association.

“This AGM marks an important time for Cattle Council with the maturing of the reformed constitution. From this election onwards, board positions will be for a 2 year term and this stability will enhance the leadership and governance skills of the board”, said Cattle Council President Howard Smith.

Cattle Council is also seeking nominations for the 4 consultative committees. Cattle Council direct members are entitled to nominate through providing an expression of interest to sit on one of the committees.

“The consultative committees are essential in the development of policy and providing strategic direction for the grassfed beef industry. All direct members are entitled to nominate and I would encourage all to put their name forward so that they can shape the direction of the industry”.

"Producers that are yet to become Cattle Council members are still able to sign up as a member and nominate for a committee. Producers can sign up on Cattle Council's website and become involved”.
